OUR MISSION
CYM IN THE UK
Our Objectives in the UK as a Youth Organisation is to:
Educate our Youth about Ukrainian History (up to and including the present day)
Promote and Preserve Ukrainian Culture including singing, music and traditional Ukrainian dancing
Encourage Social Development of our youth members
Develop and promote Team Building skills through various means, including sport.
Encourage our members involvement in Voluntary Activities, including fundraising.
Encourage Personal Development to establish future leaders within the Ukrainian Community and professionally.
Collaborate with our International CYM Community and supporting Ukrainian Organisations nationally within the UK, to spread awareness of Ukraine and Ukrainian Culture.
CYM GLOBALLY
The Objectives of CYM Internationally are to:
Organise, Nurture and Educate youth in the spirit invoked by the ideals "God and Ukraine"
Forming Christian and patriotic values as well as morally sound Individuality.
Cultivate the Unity of Ukrainians around the world, in readiness to work for the good of the Ukrainian Nation and to Strengthen its Statehood.
The motto "God and Ukraine" is based on the highest of ideals, CYM's programs promote the principles of Christian ethics and pride in the Ukrainian national Heritage.
Emphasis is placed on our members roles as a citizen of their country and also their role as members of the Ukrainian Community.
OUR PATRON
The patron of our organisation is Archangel Micheal, who is a symbol of power and divine leadership in the battle against the forces of darkness which is embodied into the ideals and our motto - "God and Ukraine".
Throughout history, the Ukrainian nation has had a deep symbolic connection Archangel Micheal and the triumph of goodness, truth and justice over evil and tyranny; from the times of the Kyivan Rus', to the Kozak Era, to Soviet times and up to the present day.
The Ukrainian nation has chosen Archangel Michael as the country’s patron Saint, as well as the patron and Guardian Angel of Kyiv, the capital city.
