On Saturday 20th September 2025, СУМівці from across the country gathered at Tarasivka for the 44th Крайовий З’їзд (National Congress) - the highest governing body of CYM in Great Britain. Meeting every two years, Крайовий З’їзд brings together delegates elected at their local Oseredok AGMs to reflect on what Krayova Uprava has achieved, decide on priorities, and elect the committees that will lead the organisation in the years ahead.

The day opened with words of welcome from Anna Fedeczko, Holova Krayovoi Upravy. Delegates then rose to sing the CYM anthem, before joining in prayer led by Kapelan CYM GB o. Taras and o. Mykola.
One of the most memorable moments followed when representatives from every Oseredok stood shoulder to shoulder to hold the new Krayova Uprava flag as it was blessed by o. Taras. Vlodko Szlachetko, former Holova of CYM GB, then invited everyone present to renew the CYM oath, a moving reminder of the values that unite us. The opening of Крайовий З’їзд closed with a moment of remembrance, led by Hania Szlachetko, honouring members who have given their lives in the war in Ukraine and CYMivtsi from GB who are no longer with us.

Guests and friends of CYM also joined CYMівці for Крайовий З’їзд. Greetings were shared in person by Dr Marian Kosmirak from AUGB, Anna Karpynec from OUZH, o. Mykola on behalf of the Bishop Kenneth from the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in the UK and o. Taras as UGCC Chaplain of CYM GB. Other privity were read on behalf of the Ambassador of Ukraine to the UK, General Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, the CYM World Executive, and CYM Krayoviyi Upravy in America and Spain. Full texts of the privity can be found here.

With the formalities complete, the day’s agenda was overseen by Dr Marian Kosmirak as Chair and Anna Monyard as Secretary. Delegates reviewed and adopted reports covering 2023–2025, reflecting the breadth of CYM GB’s work across education, culture, camps, community life and more. The report can be found here
After a lunch break, delegates elected the new governing bodies for CYM GB for the next kadentsiya, with Anna Fedeczko unanimously re-elected as Holova Krayovoi Upravy.

This Крайовий З’їзд carried extra meaning as 2025 marks 100 years since the founding of CYM. A small exhibition on CYM’s history in Britain and worldwide was on display, and members came together for an afternoon tea with custom-made desserts and cakes to mark the centenary.

Reflecting on the past term, Anna Fedeczko said:
“It’s been an intensive kadentsiya and I am proud of our achievements. I look forward to the next one as we continue to grow and develop our organisation here in GB. There will be challenges and issues to deal with but I am confident that by working together we can rise to them. I would like to thank every member of Krayova Uprava, the members of our Kerivni Orhany and every Oseredok for their commitment, hard work, and support. Together we create history and a future for our yunatstvo.”
